The Absence of Evidence for Nipah in Fruit Bats Is Not Evidence of Absence

In the aftermath of the Nipah virus outbreak in Kerala in 2018, this was the first news story to argue that not finding traces of the virus in fruit bats (at that point) couldn’t be taken to mean that the virus did not originate from bats. Read the story here.
